Role Overview
At Optimum Swim School, we believe that swimming is a life skill everyone should have. As an Assistant Trainee, you are the backbone of our poolside operations. This is a “learning-by-doing” role designed for individuals who are passionate about working with children and want to build a career in sports education.
Note: You do not need to be a pro-swimmer to apply! We provide comprehensive training, as long as you are comfortable in the water and eager to learn.

Requirements
Location: Multiple Outlets (Klang / Petaling Jaya / Shah Alam / Subang USJ)
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports to: Branch Manager / Head Coach
As an experienced Swimming Instructor at Optimum Swim School, you are more than just a coach, you are a mentor and a safety guardian. You will deliver high-quality, structured swimming lessons to a diverse range of students, from toddlers to adults, ensuring each individual develops water confidence and technical proficiency in a supportive, fun environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Excellence: Lead small-group classes (3–8 students) following the MAS (Malaysia Swimming Federation) syllabus, ensuring proper stroke mechanics and progression.
Safety & Supervision: Maintain 100% vigilance and adhere to strict Pool Safety SOPs to ensure the well-being of all students at all times.
Progress Tracking: Utilize the Optimum Mobile App to record student attendance and update weekly progress reports for parents to review.
Parent Engagement: Act as a brand ambassador by providing professional feedback to parents regarding their child’s development and milestones.
Program Development: Assist in refining lessons for Competitive & Pre-Competitive squads and conducting specialized Lifesaving training.
Mentorship: Guide and support Junior Instructors and Trainees to maintain the “Supportive Team Culture” of the school.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of active swim coaching experience.
Certifications: * Recognized Coaching Certificate (MAS, AUSTSWIM, or equivalent).
Valid Royal Lifesaving Bronze Medallion or Life Saving Society Malaysia (LSSM) certification.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Skills: * Fluent in at least two languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia, or Mandarin) to effectively communicate with a diverse student base.
Exceptional patience and a “child-first” mindset.
Availability: Able to commit to peak hours, including weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) and evening shifts for the Midweek Value Pack sessions.
